Hell, we all know about Gmod, the game built for the sole purpose of being modded! It hardly needs to be said that being able to customize the game to your tastes greatly adds to one's immersion and enjoyment when playing said game. There are plenty of old games out there that wouldn't be nearly as alive now if it weren't for the massive modding potential they have.
